Kaleidoscope Trays and Jewelry

  • Fallbrook School of the Arts 310 East Alvarado Street Fallbrook, CA, 92028 United States (map)

Use an array of colored glass in organic shapes to create a stunning one-of-a-kind tray with instructor Suzanne Balestri.  Small, kaleidoscope-like clusters of colors in a mosaic pattern create bold, whimsical designs in fused glass. Plus, create up to 3 jewelry pieces of your choosing taking inspiration from your tray. Suzanne will guide you in glass-cutting techniques and design considerations to ensure the texture and definition around each color is maintained.

Tray creations will go through two firings in the kiln - the first firing fuses all the glass layers and pieces into one solid piece. The second firing is to slump your fused piece into a ceramic mold of your choosing to take the form of that mold. Beginners welcome! Ages 13 and up.

Your project will be fired in the school kiln and ready to pick up within a week. If you are not local, other arrangements can be made to get your kiln-fired project to you.

Class Fee: $110

Supply Fee: $15 payable in cash to instructor (includes extra glass embellishments, hooks/wires for jewelry, pre-class instructional videos)
